Despite all its charm, Pad T’aye Hamilton is not without minor criticisms. Some diners mention that the limited menu can be a downside, especially for those accustomed to larger offerings at other restaurants. Items on the menu occasionally change, depending on ingredient availability, which can lead to disappointment for those specifically craving a certain dish.
Additionally, the cozy layout may feel a tad cramped during peak hours, which might deter larger groups looking for a spacious dining experience. A few visitors also pointed out the challenge in finding accurate menu information prior to their arrival, leading to some confusion around vegan options. These minor notes, however, do not overshadow the overwhelmingly positive reviews, as most customers leave satisfied and eager to try more of the tantalizing dishes.
I have been desperate to visit Pad T’Aye for so long! All I can say is wow! It is easily the best Thai food that I have had outside of Thailand itself. The flavours are so vibrant, fragrant and authentic. Liam’s passion and enthusiasm are evident in every dish. I cannot wait to come back with my family. We will definitely be regulars from now on. I CANNOT RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH!!!!!!
I didn’t realise before i went to this restaurant that i had been looking at an old menu that still had vegan main options listed on it. the mains were no longer vegan due to thai food being difficult to make vegan. the chef personally came out and spoke to me and came up with tofu fried rice on the spot for me to have which i was extremely grateful for as this was not a listed option and he chose to accommodate my diet anyway which is extremely kind. The fried rice & vegetable gyozas were amazing. my mum had the prawn pad thai and my boyfriend had the Khao soi, which they both said were identical to dishes they’d had in the streets of thailand. 10/10
Me and my husband were in last night and this place does not disappoint. We both got the Tom yum soup, mines with prawns and hubby's with chicken. It was absolutely delicious, best prawns I've ever tasted as well. Hubby's got the BBQ streetfood chicken and fried rice and the duck fat chips and ate the lot he absolutely loved it. I got the Pad Kra Pao and can honestly say it was the best I've ever had. It was delicious and so tasty. Would definitely say to anyone that hasn't tried it to give it a go you will not be disappointed x
Really excellent food! Small and cosy space with awesome decor, the chef and partner are really lovely and welcoming. But the food steals the show. Small menu which gets amended based on availablity of ingredients (always a good sign!) and regularly changed to keep it fresh. Highly recommend calling to book due to limited space. Will definitely be going again.
Lovely little place. Seen a review on instagram and thought I’d give it a try. Food was delicious, fresh and full of flavour. Service and decor were also on point. Will definitely return.
Amazing wee place. Feels so authentic. The owner has been in Thailand and clearly knows his stuff. The food was fresh as can be and piping hot as its made on the spot. Beautiful aromatic food, great portion sizes and tasted absolutely phenomenal. My wife and I have just been tonight and it was delicious. Best meal we have had in north lanarkshire. You will not be disappointed. I love thai food and compared to Ting Thai and Chaopraya in Glasgow, this wee place blows them both out of the water. Will be eating here again soon and definitely using it for a takeaway in the meantime too!
In Hamilton for one night and found this gem of a place. Cooking and flavours were superb. Friendly people who are clearly passionate about what they do. It’s small, with a lower case ‘s’ so make sure you book or phone ahead to avoid disappointment. It’s also BYO for alcohol with a £5 per head charge but they do have soft drinks. If I’m back in Hamilton I’ll definitely be back
